नर्मदेश्वर शिवलिङ्ग का महत्व ।।

नर्मदा के कंकर सब शिव शंकर, अर्थात विश्व में यही एक मात्र अमृतदायी नदी है जिसमें प्रत्येक पत्थर लिंङ्ग का आकार ले लेता है। शास्त्रों में केवल नर्मदा में जन्मे वाण लिंङ्गों की पूजा ही गृहस्थों के लिए अति फलदायी बताई गई है। इसके प्रत्येक तट पर प्रसिद्ध शिव तीर्थों का निर्माण हुआ है। ओमकारेश्वर, ममलेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंङ्ग शूल मालेश्वर मण्डलेश्वर, सिद्धनाथ, बद्रिकानाथ व्यास, अनसुईया भ्रमुक्षेत्र, आज भी प्रसिद्ध है। हरी, हर, विधि, कुबेर, स्कंध नचिकेत, नारद, वशिष्ठ व्यास, कश्यप, गौतम, भारद्वाज, मारकण्डेय, पुरुरवा हिरण्यरेता आदि अगणित देवर्षि. महर्षि एवं राज ऋषियों ने अपने जीवन काल में नर्मदा के तट पर तपस्या के साथ-साथ इनका सेवन भी किया। 

               नर्मदा क्षेत्र को सम्पूर्ण तंत्रमय शिव क्षेत्र माना गया है। शिव साधकों के लिए शिव रहस्य और शिव दर्शन प्राप्त करने के लिए नर्मदा तट से बढ़कर विश्व में कोई और दिव्य स्थान नहीं है । 

             आदि गुरु शंकराचार्य जी ने भी नर्मदा तट पर ही दीक्षा प्राप्त की थी और उन्हीं के शब्दों में नर्मदा का महत्व यह है। 

सर्वतीर्थेषु यत्पुण्यं सर्वयज्ञेषु यत्फलम् । 

सर्ववेदेषु यज्ज्ञानं तत्सर्व नर्मदातटे ॥

अर्थात सम्पूर्ण तीर्थों में स्नानादि से होने वाला पुण्य तथा समस्त यज्ञों के हो चुकने पर जो फल एवं समन्त वेदाध्ययन करने पर जो ज्ञान मिलता है, वह नर्मदा जी के तट विद्यमान है। अर्थान रेवातट पर निवास करने से भोग और मोक्ष दोनों सुलभ हो जाते हैं। 

            पूजन योग्य वाणलिंङ्ग : नर्मदेश्वर लिंङ्ग जानने के लिए ऋषियों ने एक विशेष पद्धति का निर्माण किया है जिसका वर्णन नीच किया जा रहा है। सर्वप्रथम नर्मदा से प्राप्त वाणलिंङ्ग की एक अच्छे तराजू के द्वारा चावलों से तौल लीजिए। थोड़ी देर बाद उन्हीं चावलों से लिंङ्ग को पुनः तौलिये यदि कुछ चावल लिंङ्ग के वजन से बड़ जाते हैं तो उपरोक्त लिंङ्ग गृहस्थ को ऐश्वर्य देने वाला है एवं उसके लिए पूज्य है। 

          यदि कुछ चावल घटते हैं तो उपरोक्त वाणलिंङ्ग साधक के मन में वैराग्य के भाव का निर्माण करेगा। किन्तु शिव लिंङ्ग यदि दो या तीन बार तौलने पर भी चावल के समान वजन का ही है तो ऐसे लिंङ्ग का पूजन नहीं करना चाहिए अर्थात लिंङ्ग अभी पूर्ण रूप से स्वरुप में नहीं आया है अतः उसे पवित्र भाव से पुनः नर्मदा में विसर्जित कर देना चाहिए।

         खुरदरा, केवल एक और गोल छिद्रित, चिपटा, सिर की तरफ नुकीला या टेढ़ा वाणलिंङ्ग गृहस्थ पूजन में उपयुक्त नहीं है । अत्यंत काला भौरें के समान शिव लिंङ्ग ही पूजा के लिए सर्वश्रेष्ठ होता है । बादल के समान श्याम रंग एवं दूधिया धारियों से युक्त, श्वेत रंग का वाणलिंङ्ग भी पूजा के लिए उपयुक्त होता है। कमल गट्टे के बराबर या फिर जामुन के फल के बराबर वाणलिंङ्ग जो कि सोने, चाँदी, तांबे किसी धातु की पीठिका में स्थापित हों तो गृहस्थ के घर में रखकर पूजा के लिए श्रेष्ठ माना गया है ।     

           पञ्चाक्षर जप : ॐ नमः शिवाय इस मंत्र को प्रणव के साथ जब गिनते हैं तो इसे षडक्षर कहते हैं और बिना प्रणव के गिनने पर इसे पञ्चाक्षर कहते हैं। इस महामंत्र का जाप सभी वर्ण के मनुष्य सभी समय कर सकते । शिव पूजन में यदि आह्वान, आचमन, स्नान, कुसा समर्पण आदि के मंत्र न आते हो तो सब क्रियाएं इस पञ्चाक्षर मंत्र के जप से ही की जा सकती है। इस मंत्र के जाप के लिए दीक्षा, संस्कार, अर्पण समय शुद्धि आवश्यक नहीं है अत: मंत्र यदा पवित्र है। 

              उपलिंग स्वयं भू लिंङ्ग का अर्थ है वह लिंङ्ग जिसकी किसी ने स्थापना नहीं की है जो कि शिव भक्त की उत्कृष्ठतम तपस्या एवं श्रद्धा से स्वयं प्रकट हुआ है। यह सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्माण्ड ही लिंङ्गमय है । भारतवर्ष का यह सौभाग्य है कि इस धरा पर द्वादस ज्योतिर्लिंङ्ग उपस्थित हैं परंतु पृथ्वी पर और ब्रह्माण्ड के अनेकों ग्रहमण्डलों पर एक से बढ़कर एक लिंङ्ग उपस्थित हैं।

Importance of Narmadeshwar Shivling

        

            The kankars of Narmada are all Shiva Shankar, that is, this is the only nectar-daily river in the world in which every stone takes the shape of a linga. In the scriptures, only the worship of the Van Lingas born in Narmada is said to be very fruitful for the householders. Famous Shiva shrines have been built on each of its banks. Omkareshwar, Mamleshwar Jyotirlinga Shool Maleshwar Mandleshwar, Siddhanath, Badrikanath Vyas, Anasuiya Bhramukshetra, are still famous today. Hari, Har, Vidhi, Kubera, Skandha, Nachiket, Narada, Vashistha Vyasa, Kashyapa, Gautam, Bharadwaja, Markandeya, Pururava Hiranyreta etc. Countless gods. Maharishi and Raj Rishis consumed them along with penance on the banks of Narmada during their lifetime.

                The Narmada region is considered to be the entire Tantramay Shiva Kshetra. There is no other divine place in the world than the banks of Narmada for Shiva seekers to get Shiva secrets and Shiva darshan.

              Adi Guru Shankaracharya ji had also received initiation on the banks of Narmada and in his words the importance of Narmada is this.

 Sarvatirtheshu yatpunyam sarvayagyeshu yatfalam.

 Sarvavedeshu Yajgyanam Tatsarva Narmadatte Om.

 That is, the merit that comes from bathing in all the pilgrimages and the fruit of all the sacrifices and the knowledge that one gets from studying the Vedas, is present on the banks of Narmada ji. Meaning, by residing on Revat, both enjoyment and salvation become accessible.

             Worshipable Vanaling: To know the Narmadeshwar Linga, the sages have created a special method, which is being described below. First of all, weigh the Vanalinga obtained from Narmada with rice using a fine scale. After a while, weigh the linga again with the same rice, if some rice becomes bigger than the weight of the ling, then the above linga is supposed to give opulence to the householder and is worshiped for him.

           If some rice decreases then the above Vanalinga will create a feeling of dispassion in the mind of the seeker. But if the Shiva linga is of the same weight as rice even after being weighed twice or thrice, then such a linga should not be worshipped, that is, the linga has not yet come in its full form, so it should be immersed again in the Narmada with a holy spirit.

          Rough, only one round perforated, flabby, pointed or crooked wanling towards the head is not suitable in household worship. Like the very black brows, the Shiva linga is the best for worship. White colored Vanalinga is also suitable for worship. Vanaling equal to the Lotus seed or equal to the fruit of berries, if gold, silver, copper are installed in the back of any metal, then keeping it in the house of the householder is considered best for worship.

            Panchakshara Japa: Om Namah Shivaya When this mantra is counted with Pranava it is called Shadakshara and if it is counted without Pranava it is called Panchakshara. Humans of all castes can chant this Mahamantra at all times. If the mantras of invocation, achaman, bath, kusa surrender etc. do not come in Shiva worship, then all the actions can be done only by chanting this Panchakshara mantra. For the chanting of this mantra, initiation, sanskar, offering time, purification is not necessary, so the mantra is sometimes holy.

               The Upalinga swayambhu linga means the linga which has not been established by anyone, which has manifested itself by the supreme penance and devotion of the devotee of Shiva. This entire universe is lingamaya. It is the good fortune of India that Dwadas Jyotirlinga are present on this earth, but there is more than one linga present on earth and on many planets of the universe.
